…Each bar contains 25 grams of carbs, 20 g of protein and 210 calories. Each bar also has 1 g of sugar and 12 g of fiber.
The fact that the nutritional value for each bar is the same is a good thing. One of the things that usually worries me with protein bars is I might get less nutrients depending on the flavor.
That’s why I found it a relief that you’ll get the same amounts of nutrients regardless here.

While the nutritional values are the same, the flavors differ widely as I found out.
- Cinnamon Twist
The Cinnamon Twist flavor is one of my favorites.
Unlike other protein bars, the Cinnamon Twist actually tastes like cinnamon with the glaze, butter and the textures. The taste is complex and rich without being artificial.
The outer layers are mild, and it is in the center where the cinnamon taste is at its strongest. The coating is light and its texture is like butter without being too sweet.
I also like the interior texture as it goes along very well with the chocolate glaze. I also have to say its got a nice soft crunchy taste.
Cinnamon is a pretty common flavor, but Cinnamon Twist is tastier and more filling. It doesn’t make you feel bloated though, making this a good snack while you’re in the middle of a workout. Go get some here today.
- Chocolate Brownie
The name pretty much says it all, but there is a lot more to this than what you would expect. Does it taste like chocolate brownie?
Yes, but it’s also got a complex taste compared to rival flavors. Chocolate Brownie is sweeter than other chocolate brownie flavors, but it also has this salty under taste so it’s well balanced.
The sweet, lightly salty flavor is complemented by the crunchy chunks. This is a protein bar all right, but the brownie texture makes it taste like real chocolate chip cookies. It also uses cocoa butter, providing even more flavor.
Chocolate Brownie is thick and rich, and the recipe is 100% chocolate. You get plenty of chocolate chunks, and the center is filled with cocoa butter for a smooth taste.
The middle section is firm but still easy to chew. The bar is not all sweetness though as it also has some degree of saltiness to balance the flavor.

- Chocolate Coconut
The Chocolate Coconut flavor lives up to its claim of giving you a rich tropical fruit taste.
The coconut flavors give it a nice, natural flavor.
The chocolate covers the bar so it really tastes like chocolate and not protein.
The best way to describe the taste is that it has a nice balance between coconut and chocolate, much better compared to other protein bars.
These bars contain real coconut which gives it that additional sweetness and keeps the sucralose flavor away. The taste is complemented by the milky chocolate, really nice.
- Cookies and Cream
This is one of the most popular flavors from Cookies and Cream, and I have to go with the majority.
Cookies and Cream strikes the right balance between creaminess and that delicious chocolate flavor.
The texture is excellent and is complemented by the other ingredients. In a way the taste is akin to chocolate protein bars, only richer.
Cookies and cream tastes exactly like it.
One thing I did notice is the creamy flavor is strong.

- Birthday Cake
The Combat Crunch Birthday Cake has a unique flavor, somewhat like vanilla frost but with its own distinct texture. It is different from the rest and may take some getting used to, but personally I enjoy Birthday Cake since it’s unique.
The middle is dense and most resembles vanilla with just a tiny bit of citrus thrown in. The top and sides are covered with candy sprinkles as befits a birthday cake.
Taste wise it is not as sweet as a typical birthday cake, but there’s enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. This flavor is also gluten free.
If you have tried the different flavors and want to go with something different, I’d recommend Birthday Cake. It is not too sweet nor is it too dull, just ideal if your taste buds want something new.
- White Chocolate Raspberry
Raspberry flavors are fairly common among protein bars, but what makes Combat Crunch different is it uses real raspberries.
This is great if you like your raspberries to taste natural and the natural choice keeps the flavor from being too sweet. It’s like frozen dried raspberries with a hint of jam.
The white chocolate element has a nice creamy taste, similar to white chocolate.
This is actually a pleasant surprise since the ingredients don’t list vanilla or cocoa butter. Raspberry flavors may be a dime in a dozen, but Combat Crunch makes their flavor stand out.
- S’Mores
S’Mores brings the graham flavor in protein bars. This is a relatively new flavor and not something you will come across often. Like the Birthday Cake this might take some getting used to.
What I noticed with S’Mores is the graham flavor becomes more apparent the more you eat.
The texture and taste are more familiar, and it will taste like the real thing. This is also ideal if you want to get a taste of something unique.
- Chocolate Cookie Dough
The best way to describe this flavor is that it is a lot like a chocolate chip cookie.
Its texture and taste are akin to real cookies, but they are packed with plenty of nutrition for a pre or post workout snack.
It’s also got enough proteins to keep you full and prevent you from overeating.
The chocolate taste is excellent and there is a buttery texture below it, giving the Chocolate Cookie Dough a different taste.
Compared to other chocolate cookie dough flavors, Combat Crunch is more flavorful but hasn’t lost that homemade flavor. Its chocolate glazing is extensive, and it has a nice double chocolate flavor.
The Chocolate Cookie Dough is soft and easy to chew. It’s almost like a home made cookie with a buttery center. I also have to say the protein bar leaves a pleasant taste in your mouth.
- Chocolate Cake
Most chocolate cake flavored protein bars don’t capture the taste of cake well but this one does.
Its got the taste of rich chocolate but does not have the bitterness of cocoa. At the same time it isn’t as sweet as others, giving the protein bar a nice balance.
What I like about Chocolate Cake is it has a genuine taste. There is nothing bland or chalky about it. The best way to describe the taste is that it’s like a crunchy chocolate candy, only this is more nutritious.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup
If you like peanut butter – and who doesn’t – you’re going to get a kick out of this flavor.
The peanut butter flavor is rich and comparable to other chocolate peanut butter protein bars. Its got the right amount of sweetness without going over the top, and the texture is consistently good.
Not everyone likes protein peanut butter cup bars, and I understand since this combo is so easy to mess up. To the credit of Muscle Pharm they got the peanut butter flavor combo right and it tastes great.
The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup flavor is dense and creamy. It also keeps you full so you won’t feel the urge to snack after your meals. I have tried a lot of these recipes, but I can say this is one of the best.

They don’t taste like your ordinary protein bar: the flavors have the sweetness of candies but it’s more nutritious, and that’s precisely what we want.
