Outpatient Services

SWFAS assesses all adolescents/families who are experiencing problems related to substance abuse or other behavioral health related issues. Assessment services are offered at NO COST. However, there are fees for treatment services, which are based on a sliding scale or flat rate for group services, with no one being refused treatment for inability to pay. A fee appeal waiver is also available. In addition, Medicaid is also accepted for outpatient services.

SWFAS accepts referrals from other community agencies as well as self-referrals.

If a parent, youth or agency calls:

• An appointment is scheduled (emergency walk-in services are also available)
• A SWFAS clinician will conduct an assessment interview with the child and parent(s) and inform the family of clinical recommendations at the end of the assessment interview.
• If a recommendation for substance treatment is indicated, SWFAS personnel will assist client/family in setting up this treatment.
• If a recommendation is made for other behavioral health care services, SWFAS personnel will also assist the client/family in accessing these services.

Outpatient Counseling Services provided include:

• Parent/Adolescent Groups
• Family Counseling
• Adolescent only Groups
• Individual Counseling
• Marchman Act services

Many referrals for outpatient services are usually made from Juvenile Assessment clinicians. There are fees for all services provided.
